KalaJunkman is one of the best, if not the best paint care specialists in the biz. You can learn a lot from his videos...

He posted a video - how - to thread recently on the Viper club forum that makes paint care so easy he says a 10 year old can do it. If you want to detail and repair your own paint, this series will be helpful to you...

enjoy

ALLEY CATGreat info, thanks Coach K

I'll get Lethia on this asap

BeWareThank You. Awesome information and very timely for me as well. I plan on buffing out the Prowler this year. I even took notes and I will soon be ordering may of the products shown. I also watched his 4 part video on his two bucket, two mitt, car washing process. I highly recommend them as well.
enzvoyI found this video on Autogeek.com last year, after watching it I ordered about $250.00 worth of stuff from them .he explains every step very clearly great videos
catfishjmo,if youve never buffed a car in your life, pay a pro to do it,you will be ahead of the game, its way harder than he makes it sound, and one screwup you will be repainting the panel/panels.if he screws it up,he will have to fix it.car manufacturers put minimum clearcoat on when they paint it,and it doesnt take much ,for a novice to screw it up.its well worth the money to have a pro do it,its not a skill you learn from a video you do need some previous hands on experience.one product i highly recommend to get rid of thos small scratches is production car care products is synthetic cutting cream, its a synthetic and removes minimal clearcoat, because it doesnt have any abrasives in it like other compounds and works just as good as anything out there if not better.

VinceMThe SoCal Prowlers attended abbreviated detailing seminars at The Chemical Guys and Meguiars. The techniques, equipment and products shown in the videos are essentially the same used during both of these beginners’ seminars and are spot on. In both seminars a PC dual action (DA) buffer were used. The same as in the video. Using a DAs is just about bullet proof since it rotates in two directions. Unlike like a rotary buffer which can burn through the clear coat if used incorrectly. I was apprehensive about using a DA the first time since I had no previous experience. However, armed with the knowledge gained and watching how the process is done,I’ve not had a problem in over fours years and the paint on my Prowler looks great.

padrooHe is kind of crude with his car but he seems like he knows what he is talking about. I haven't done this stuff in years and didn't know a lot of it so the information was great. My wife details the Prowler, now all I have to do is buy the stuff, get her to watch the video then get a cup of coffee and watch her work. She won't let me touch the car.
Paul BThere is a company called Adams Polishes, in california that has a terrific FREE online video library from washing, claybar, paint correction, swirls, etc. Their customer service is excellent, and they have people who are available to talk you through your detail, equipment etc. They had people with experience on different paint types (one stage) and clear coat paints, and the differences in cutting and polishing them. Ive had great luck with the products and service.
ALLEY CATThanks Paul, for the additional information.
